Question
What does the PHOSPHAX sc message "Photometer level low" mean and how can this be resolved?
Answer
The message "Photometer level low" always appears if the optical path of the photometer is impaired within the cell by contaminants, or the light source (LED) is no longer emitting sufficient energy and must be replaced by a service technician.

What can be done if contaminants are present?
  1. First, check the quality of the sample. The sample should be visually clear and must not contain any solids that could settle in the cell.
  2. Increase the frequency of cleaning. To do so, open the SENSOR SETUP menu in the controller, select the affected PHOSPHAX sc and adjust the cleaning interval under CONFIGURATION.
  3. WARNING! - Carry out point 3 if you have already gained sufficient practical experience with this appliance. Unscrew the top of the cell and clean the measurement window with a cotton swab and an alkaline cleaning agent (sodium hydroxide NaOH or sodium hypochlorite NaOCl). If this is unsuccessful, please call a SERVICE technician.
