Question
Is there a defined maximum horizontal area the Sonatax sc can measure?
Answer
There is no defined value of the horizontal area measured by the Sonatax sc. It can be approximately calculated by using the formula below, which can be found in the user manual:
0.20 m+ (0.05 x tank depth in meters) = distance to tank edge
For example, the tank depth is 4 m : 0,20 m + (0,05 x 4,00 m) = 0,40 m min distance to all tank edges is required.
This means the horizontal area below the probe which will be valid for measurement is less than about 0,80 m diameter for this tank with 4 m depth.
