Answer
Part of PROGNOSYS™ Frequently Asked Questions

The key driver of efficiency with PROGNOSYS™ is that maintenance becomes proactive rather than reactive, saving time and avoiding unexpected maintenance costs. PROGNOSYS™ helps the operator forecast their maintenance needs and labor schedultion. This results in a reduction of downtime and eliminates the need to carry unnecessary inventory. When how well the instrument is performing that day is known, it becomes easier to know how to best use limited maintenance dollars and time.

For example, if a wiper change is needed, PROGNOSYS™ alerts the operator that the wiper will need to be changed in 10 days. That way the operator doesn't need to have wipers on the shelf. The wiper can be ordered so they can be delivered when they are needed so excess inventory doesn't need to be carried.

Similarly, if it is assumed that a wiper change is needed every six months, but in reality PROGNOSYS™ identifies that a wiper replacement is only required annually, it cuts labor cost in half for this task. This can add up acrossed multiple preventative maintenance tasks.
