Question
What solution Hach offer to minimize biofilm formation on the Filtrax sc filter membrane?
Summary
Minimize biofilm formation on the Filtrax sc filter membrane
Answer
The cooper oxide is considered an antibacterial agent against biofilm forming bacteria. Hach 's solution to minimize the formation of the biofilm near the sample tubing is the copper plate near the bottom of the filter plates, pictured below.
The customer should use 5% chlorine bleach or 5% hydrochloric acid to thoroughly clean the filter module. After leaving to soak for 10min, the filter plates must be insert into the module carrier, without prior rinsing with water, so that the sample tubes are cleaned with the solution left in the filter. These are the only methods Hach uses to minimize the formation of the biofilm on the filter plates.
