Question
Application Note: Optimization Solutions for the Treatment of Wastewater WTOS N/DN-RTC
Summary
Time based control has, until now, been the standard method of aeration control in many intermittently operated wastewater treatment plants. As the current load is not taken into consideration, this method often results in a higher energy consumption and total nitrate concentration than is actually necessary. However, a new control technology is now available for intermittent systems: Water Treatment Optimisation Solutions N/DN-RTC. This technology uses continuously measured nitrate and ammonium values to produce optimum efficiency. This approach will lower electricity costs in the long term and a reduction of at least 20% in the total nitrate discharge value will mean that wastewater charges are also lowered.
