Question
Are there guidelines for determining if the KF1000 can be used to test in specific application?
Summary
Information on determining if the KF1000 can be used to measure moisture content in specific samples.
Answer
Here is an article that discusses the range of the Karl fisher titrator:  What is the range, detection limit, and accuracy of the KF1000 Karl Fischer titrator?

In summary the KF1000 is only recommended for measuring moisture content in samples with above 0.1% moisture. If the sample is above 0.1%, then KF1000 can likely be used. If it is needed to test samples that are below 0.1% moisture, Coulometric titrators would be generally recommended over volumetric titrators like the KF1000.
Is Titration Application Pack Karl Fischer: Moisture Content for volumetric or coulometric Karl Fischer titrations?

The KF1000 doesn't care what the sample is so long as the range is fine. What is sample specific however is what reagents would be recommended for use to test moisture content in the specific sample type using a volumetric Karl Fischer titrator like the KF1000. Hach does not sell or support Karl Fischer reagents. Sample or application specific questions on which reagents to use should be directed to the reagent supplier.
What reagents should be ordered for use with the Karl Fischer Titrator KF1000?
Can alternative solvents be used to completely dissolve samples for Karl Fischer titrations on the KF1000?
