Question
Can reagents that are added by a pump on AT1000 titrations be changed to be done manually instead?
Summary
How to change reagent addition to be done manually for AT1000 applications that use a pump to automatically add reagents such as buffers during titration.
Answer
Many applications use pumps to add a reagent to the sample automatically during the titration. This includes the following among others:
Adding the Acetate buffer during a Total Chlorine titrations.
Adding the Phosphate buffer during Free Chlorine, Chlorine Dioxide, and Chlorite titrations.
Adding the complexing buffer during Hardness titrations.
Adding the acid during Chloride and Salt titrations.

These applications are programmed by default to be loaded onto a titrator with a pump and have these reagents added automatically. It is recommended to have these reagents added automatically as it simplifies the test procedure, helps to decrease the time per test, and helps to ensure consistency of volume of reagent added. However it is possible to edit the applications to add these reagents manually instead. This will also make these applications compatible with titrators that do no have pumps.

To make this change, from the home screen select Options>Applications>Edit (you may need to select which application to edit if there is more than one application installed on the titrator) and scroll through to the section(s) titled "Automatic Addition" and change "Active: Yes" to "Active: No". Then you'll also need to change the section(s) titled "Manual Addition" and change "Active: No" to "Active:Yes".
