Answer
  1. Conductivity Trigger.
    • This is the value reading off of the SVS conductivity sensor that signals that the SVS is touching water.  The units are micro-Siemens/cm.
    • Default=50
  2. Distance Turn on and Distance Switchover
    • When the ultrasonic sensor's distance reading reads less than 8" (meaning there is water 8" from the ultrasonic sensor), the SVS sensor will turn on.
    • When the ultrasonic sensor's distance reading reads less than 7" (meaning there is water 7" from the ultrasonic sensor), the Flo-Dar will "switchover" from the main sensors to the SVS sensor.  The radar velocity and ultrasonic level sensors will turn off.
  3. Surcharge Level Trigger
    • The Flo-Dar has a pressure level sensor that is used for surcharge detection and to measure the depth of flow during surcharge.
    • When the Surcharge Level Trigger is exceeded, the level will read full pipe.
    • Default = 1".
  4. SVS Velocity Multiplier
    • This a calibration adjustment to make the SVS velocity match the actual velocity.  The velocity measured by the SVS is multiplied by the number in the box.
    • For example, if the SVS measures a velocity of 2.0 fps and the actual velocity of the water is 2.4 fps, then enter 1.20 into the Site Multiplier box.
  5. What makes the Flo-Dar switchover to the SVS sensor?
    • There are three parameters monitored:
      • Surcharge Level
      • Conductivity
      • Distance
    • Whenever two of these three parameters indicate surcharge, the Flo-Dar will switchover to the SVS sensor.  If only one of them indicates surcharge, nothing will happen.
