Question
Do chemicals such as standard solutions or manufactured reagents containing mixtures of compounds have a chemical reagent grade?
Summary
Chemical reagent grade application to standard solutions and manufactured reagents.
Answer
Standard solutions and other manufactured reagents containing mixtures of compounds do not possess any chemical reagent "grade".

Only single component items, such as potassium hydroxide pellets or concentrated ammonia, can be graded.

Chemical reagent grade has to do with the purity of the compound. The moment one introduces other chemical components or dilute the product, chemical reagent grades no longer apply.

For more information on different types of chemical reagent grades, see the article titled, What is an ACS reagent grade?
