Question
What are the different measurement modes for the HQd meters?
Summary
Press to read, interval, and continuous measurement modes.
Answer
To access the measurement modes press the Wrench button, then select Measurement mode. Below are the options and descriptions
  • Press to Read:
    • This is the default mode.
    • The right button acts as a read button
      • Once the read button is selected, a reading is started, stabilization time occurs, and the results are displayed.
    • The result will continue to be displayed until the home screen is left or another reading is started.
    • Each result taken in press to read mode is stored in the data log unless it is or becomes full.
  • Interval:
    • Once selected it opens two other setting options.
      • Duration
        • This is how long the mode will be active once started
        • Options are: 15 min, 30 min, 1 h, 4 h, 8 h, 24 h, 48 h, and no limit.
      • Interval
        • This is the elapsed time between readings during the duration.
        • Options are: 10 s, 30 s, 1 min, 5 min, 15 min, and 30 min.
    • It will not let you select a duration that is equal or less than the interval selected.
    • The right button acts as a start duration button.
      • Once the start button is pressed duration time will start, and the button will change to a stop button which will end the duration then rather than once the time elapses.
      • Once the start button is pressed it will immediately take a reading, then automatically take another reading after the interval time as elapsed. This continues until the duration time elapses or the stop button is pressed.
    • Each result taken in this mode is stored in the data log unless it is or becomes full.
      • If the meter does not have enough available memory to store all the points of a full duration it will give you a warning when you select the interval and start the duration. You will have to press continue to move forward.
      • You can connect an external memory device to the instrument using the USB/Power adapter. If this is done it will store the results directly to the device.
  • Continuous:
    • In this mode it continuously updates the display and the probe continuously re stabilizes.
    • The right button acts as a store button in this mode.
      • When the button is pressed it stores the current reading to the data log.
    • The only data stored to the log are the results displayed when the store button is pressed.
