Summary
Removing the upper end cap on the Sigma 910.
Answer
The upper end cap is held in place by 4 steel pins and is press fit into the meter case with an o-ring seal.
Please remember that qualified technician should be the only one to perform maintenance on the Sigma 910 Flow Meter. Also, remember that all safety precautions should be taken by the technician when doing maintenance on the equipment.
  1. Remove the main battery from the meter. Proper direction for this task are in the Knowledge Base Article for Sigma Battery Replacement.
  2. Set the meter upright so that the connector ports are facing up.
  3. If the pins are not visible, it is normal for a layer of black electrical tape to be covering them.  Remove and dispose of the tape.
  4. Using a small needle nose pliers, grip each pin and pull it straight out.  There are four pins to remove.
  5. Grip the upper end cap and simultaneously twist and pull until it separates from the meter.
  6. Pull the end cap straight up and remove the battery connector to release the upper end cap from the meter case.
