Question
Can the interval between password changes on the Radiometer TitraMaster 85 Software be increased?
Summary
TM85 Software password change interval
Answer
The Radiometer Analytical TitraMaster 85 Software (TM85) is setup to prompt for a new login ID and password every 90 days. This can be increased up to 365 days, but cannot be disabled. If one wants to change the time to something other than 90 days, one will need to edit a line in the Windows Registry. Instructions for changing the 90 day password change prompt are as follows:
  1. With the TM85 Software closed, from the "Start" menu in the corner of Windows, select the "Run" option
  2. Type in "regedit" and select "ok" - this will open the Windows Registry Editor
  3. In the left window, open the following path in the "tree": My Computer >>> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE >>> SOFTWARE >>> RADIOMETER ANALYTICAL SAS >>> TitraMaster 85
  4. With "TitraMaster 85" highlighted, one should see a list of items in the right window of the Registry Editor
  5. Find the item named "PwdMaxValidity" and double click this item to open an editing window
  6. The data value should be 90 (days) by default. One can change this value to another number as needed (up to 365 days), then select "ok" to save the new value and close the editing window, and then close the Registry Editor - the new time period should now be saved
Note: If the software of the TM85 is V5.2.1 or newer, one will find the "PwdMaxValidity" registry item in a different location in the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE >>> SOFTWARE >>> Wow6432Node >>> RADIOMETER ANALYTICAL SAS >>> TitraMaster 85
