Question
Can a custom calibration be done on the sensION™ + EC5 Portable Conductivity meter?
Summary
Custom calibration with the sensION™ + EC5 conductivity meter
Answer
A custom or manual calibration can be done on the sensION™ + EC5 Portable Conductivity meter when using a standard other than the default conductivity values of 147 uS/cm, 1413 uS/cm, and 12.88 mS/cm. A custom calibration only allows a 1 point calibration.

Proceed with the following steps to perform a custom calibration:
  1. Unscrew the sensor protector
  2. Rinse the sensor with plenty of deionized water
  3. Dip the sensor into the solution in which manual calibration is to be performed.
  4. Press the check mark key to take a reading in the standard.
  5. After the meter stabilizes and provides a conductivity value, press the calibration and check mark keys  at the same time. The measured conductivity value should be displayed at the top of the screen, 'EC' should be displayed in the middle, and 'NAnCAL' should be displayed on the bottom.
  6. Press the up or down arrows keys to adjust the measured value to the standard solution value
  7. Press the calibration key  to save the adjustment. One should see CAL OK display to confirm the calibration has been saved.
