Question
How are the Tensette® Pipets and the BBP Variable Pipets calibrations checked after assembly?
Summary
Tensette® Pipets and the BBP Variable Pipets calibration check procedures
Answer
After pipet assembly for the Tensette® Pipets, an electronic scale is used to measure the water delivery weight by the pipet to confirm it is within specifications. Each pipet must pass 3 times.

If the weight is not within the designated range, the pipette is recalibrated.
- For the Tensette® Pipet, 0.1-1.0 mL (Product # 1970001), the operator will rotate the plunger to 1 mL and then weigh out the water. If the water weight is between 0.9857-1.0057 g, it passes.
- For the Tensette® Pipet, 1.0-10 mL (Product # 1970010), the operater will rotate the plunger to 1 mL and then weigh out the water. If the water weight is between 0.9850-1.0150 g, it passes.
If the weight is not within the designated range, the pipette is recalibrated.
