Question
What are acceptable error limits for general lab testing?
Summary
Error limits for lab testing
Answer
Acceptable error limits for lab testing have to be determined by the individual lab and regulatory body, if applicable.

More information is available in  An Introduction to Standards and Quality Control for the Laboratory, by Barbara Martin. Typically the measured standard concentration should read within 5-10% of the actual standard concentration, but again, this is something to be determined by the individual lab.
