What is the proper procedure to check the U53 sensor when receiving error “Echo Loss”?

For "Echo Loss" error, first check the sensor face to make sure the protective plastic cover is removed on a new sensor install. Next check the site conditions to make sure that the U53 ultrasonic sensor is perpendicular to the flow and the signal is bouncing straight back from the flow. Lastly, check for stream or foam on the surface of the flow. These conditions will absorb the signal and are not recommended measuring locations.
