Question
Is the 5500 sc Ammonia/ Monochloramine (AMC) method of measurement EPA compliant?
Summary
5500 sc AMC measurement method and EPA compliance.
Answer
EPA approves analytical methods, they do not approve instrumentation.  While the analyzer is not EPA approved, the 5500 sc AMC uses a modified phenate method which is a derivative of the Indophenol method (method 350.1) to get its measurement, therefore it can be considered an approved method.  Here is a link to the 5500 sc AMC Operations Manual for additional reference.
