Question
Does the Ultraturb sc sensor need to be calibrated at time of install?
Summary
Ultraturb sc sensor and calibration at installation.
Answer
Out of box calibration is not necessary with the Ultraturb sc sensor:

The Ultraturb is calibrated at the factory.  Unlike the 1720E, which uses an incandescent lamp, the Ultraturb uses LEDs and so it does not need to be calibrated when first installed.  The Ultraturb is shipped with a copy of the calibration certificate and the instrument will keep the calibration and will not lose the calibration data.

Annual calibration is recommended for normal operation.  The instrument will be calibrated using the calibration/cleaning kit (Product # LZV451).  It is recommended to  calibrate the zero point setting using a membrane filter (Product # LZV325) as listed in the manual.  The recommended standard is 20 NTU. It is ok to mix your own standard using 4000 NTU Formazin or use the premixed StablCal. If the 4000 NTU Formazin is diluted,  the value of this standard must be between 17-20 NTU Formazin.
