Question
How can overflow and spilled reagent be cleaned from the DRB200 heating block?
Summary
Cleaning of overflow and spilled reagent from DRB200.
Answer
Plese use the steps below to clean spills in the DRB200.

1) Switch off the instrument, unplug the power cord, and allow the instrument to cool.
2) Draw off the liquid with a pipette, avoiding any contact with the skin.
3) Transfer liquid residues to a proper disposal.
4) Remove broken glass with tweezers and wipe out any remaining liquid with a damp cloth, avoiding contact with the skin.

Note: Do not use liquid to clean the instrument. The vial holes on the DRB200 are not completely sealed and liquid can penetrate into the instrument, causing the insulation in the instrument to get wet. Wet insulation can result in the off-gassing of acids or the burning of the insulation the next time the heating block is used. If overflow or spilled reagent can not be cleaned with a damp cloth, the instrument needs to be sent in to the Hach Service Center for repair.
