Question
How can the DRB200 8-hour timeout be bypassed for tests which require digestions for cleaning/conditioning be performed for 24 hours?
Summary
Digesting ultra low range reaction tubes for 24 hours.
Answer
To bypass the 8 hour timeout on the DRB200, start the desired program which will heat it up to the temperature specified. Choose any of the digestion period options. Once hot, insert reaction tubes containing deionized water and reagent. Do not press start to begin timer. Instead, allow tubes to digest for 24 hours. If the timer is started, the 24 hour digestion is not acheivable.  Methods such as ULR Iron method 10263 state that reaction tubes used for digestion must be digested for 24 hours using DI water to clean or condition the cells prior to use.
