Question
Is it possible to use a CL17 to measure Chlorine Dioxide?
Summary
Using the CL17 total chlorine analyzer to measure Chlorine Dioxide.
Answer
It is possible to use the CL17 to read chlorine Dioxide. However, there are a few things to take into consideration:
The ratio of the molecular weights are similar. That value would be 99.45 (MW of ClO 2 )/70.9 (MW of Cl 2 ) = 1.4. So a 1.0 ppm Cl 2  reading on the display would be equivalent to 1.4 ppm ClO 2  (1.0 x 1.4 = 1.4) This conversion/adjustment would need to be performed by the end user or operator of the CL17 as there is no option in the analyzer to automatically compensate for the difference.
