Question
How often should the IntelliCAL™ LDO101 and LBOD101 probes be calibrated?
Summary
Calibration frequency for IntelliCAL™ LDO probes.
Answer
The sensor cap specifically is the part of the probe that is interacting with the sample. So when the probe is calibrated, the curve is adjusted for any changes in the sensor cap. The rate at which the sensor cap degrades will vary from customer to customer. So how often the probe needs to be calibrated is going to vary from customer to customer. This depends on several factors such as accuracy requirements, sample matrix, and other environmental conditions.

It would be recommended to check accuracy on the LDO probe. The probe does not need to be calibrated if the accuracy check falls within the user set limits. If it reads lower than the tolerance set then it needs to be recalibrated. It's recommended do this initially to get a feel for how often the probe needs to be calibrated then just continue to calibrate at that schedule moving forward.

For more information on the accuracy check procedure please review How can the IntelliCAL™ LDO101 electrode accuracy be checked? It would be recommended to give it 10 % tolerance because the water will never truly be saturated with air as some oxygen will degas immediately and continue over the stabilization time and time between shaking and reading, so the reading will always be a little lower.
