Question
Can the LDO Model 2 sensor be used in a Vinyl Chloro Monomer (VCM) application?
Summary
VCM application with the LDO Model 2 sensor.
Answer

Vinyl Chlorine Monomer  (VCM) is derived in a series of reactions.  Chlorine, extracted from brine, is combined with ethylene to form ethylene dichloride (EDC).  EDC is converted to the gas, VCM, then polymerized to form vinyl polymer, or as we know it PVC. So in plants, we may see VCM units or EDC units, etc. We do not recommend using the LDO Model 2 sensor in this type of application. The chief concern is that the materials of construction won't withstand the environment and the Fluorescent material won't hold up.
