Question
What is needed to bring 4-20 mA signals in to a computer?
Summary
Convert signal from 4-20 mA to Modbus communication
Answer
It is possible to collect 4-20 mA signals and transmit them digitally in to a computer software such as UDG1000 or ProcessLink from any device that outputs a 4-20 mA signal using an Acromag Analog Current Loop Module (Catalog Number/ Order Code 5439600). The Acromag accepts up to 4 analog current loops and outputs data over a single pair of wires using Modbus RS485 communication.

Conversion from RS485 to RS232 (Product #
5737800 or 5710600) or from RS485 to USB (using Product # 5920400) will also be necessary in most cases.
