Question
Is there an estimated detection limit for manganese interference in the DPD methods?
Summary
Estimated detection limit for manganese interference with DPD chemistry
Answer
With the Chlorine (Free & Total) Color Disc Test Kit, Model CN-66 (Product # 223101), 0.09 ppm KMnO4 (or 0.03 ppm Mn) is required to produce a detectable result of 0.1 ppm Cl2.

With the low range DPD methods on the colorimeters and spectrophotometers, 0.018 ppm KMnO4 (or 0.006 ppm Mn) is required to produce a detectable result of 0.02 ppm Cl2.
