Question
What is the correct storage (and filling) solution for an IntelliCAL™ pH probe?
Summary
pH storage and filling solution
Answer
The correct solution for storage of any Hach non-refillable pH probe is pH Electrode Storage Solution, 500 mL (Product # 2756549). This includes the PHC101 and PHC201 electrodes.

The PHC301 and MTC301 electrodes also use pH Electrode Storage Solution, 500 mL (Product # 2756549) for storage. For the filling solution, these probes use Filling Solution, Reference, 3 M KCl with AgCl, 28 mL (Product # 2841700).

The PHC281 electrode uses Filling Solution, Reference, 2.44M KCl, 59 mL (Product # 2965026) for both filling and storage.

The PHC805 uses pH Electrode Storage Solution, 500 mL (Product # 2756549) for both filling and storage. Filling Solution, Reference, 3M KCl (Product # 2756559) is the same solution but in a smaller bottle with a a spout suitable for refilling the electrode.

All red rod pH electrodes use saturated KCl for both filling and storage. Filling Solution, Reference, Saturated KCl, 59 mL (Product # 25118026) is in a bottle with a spout suitable for refilling the electrode. Filling Solution, Reference, Saturated KCl, 500 mL (Product # 25118049) is a larger bottle which has a lower cost per unit volume and can be used to fill storage bottles and refill filling solution bottles. Filling Solution, Reference, KCl Crystals (KCl.C), 15 g (Product # S21M001) should be added to the filling solution of red rod probes to maintain saturation. The probes that follow these instructions include: PHC705, PHC725, PHC735, PHC745, PHC705A, and PHC729.
