Question
Why does Hach use LiOH in the Ammonia ISA instead of NaOH per Standard Methods?
Summary
LiOH instead of NaOH in Ammonia ISA.
Answer
Hach used the LiOH because it was easier to make powder pillows with and has the same effect as NaOH. Standard Methods uses 10 N NaOH. We offer this for customers to make it up on their own ISA if needed: Sodium Hydroxide Standard Solutions 10 N 500 mL (Product # 2545049)
