Question
What can cause the Astro TOC/1950+ to read zero and what can fix this?
Summary
Astro TOC 1950+ Reading Zero
Answer
Zero readings can be due to a calibration issue, or due to component failure.
1. Check the calibration. If the calibration was performed while there was a leak in the system it is possible the curve is a flat line. This will cause the analyzer to read zero, and this is especially true if you are able to perform a gas calibration.
2. The live value is not based on calibration, it is the raw value. Do a liquid cal to see if it will calibrate and read the standard properly. What ppm does it show? If 0, there may be an issue with the bench. Recalibrate it.
