Question
Why is the Citric Acid turning milky in appearance on my Series 5000 Silica Analyzer?
Summary
Series 5000 and citric acid
Answer
The reagents must be stored at temperatures above 10°C (50°F) and below 40°C (104°F). If stored outside of that range, the citric acid may polymerize and become milky. At that point, we do not recommend that it is used in the analyzer.
