Question
How often should the salt bridge and standard cell solution of a differential pH or ORP sensor be changed?
Summary
pH/ORP sensor maintenance information
Answer
We recommend changing the salt bridge and standard cell solution at least one time a year in a typical drinking water application. The actual frequency may be more often and is process dependent. Routine replacement of the salt bridge and standard cell solution helps to prevent the standard cell solution from becoming contaminated, which can cause an offset in the sensor signal and increased difficulty in calibration.
