Question
Does Hach have a method for measuring metaphosphate?
Summary
Metaphosphate determination
Answer
Metaphosphate is a form of condensed phosphate, which inclues meta, pyro, and polyphosphates. Condensed phosphates can be determined by subtracting the results of an orthophosphate test from the results of an acid hydrolyzable phosphate test. The results from this test will include any meta, pyro, and polyphosphates and will not be selective only for metaphosphate.

Condensed Phosphate = Acid Hydrolyzable Phosphate - Ortho (reactive) Phosphate

For more information, please see: What is the correct form of phosphorus to measure - reactive, acid hydrolyzable, or total?
