Question
Is a microbial equivalent per milliliter (ME/ml) equivalent to a Colony Forming Unit (CFU)?
Summary
ME/ml on a LuminUltra PhotonMaster™ test compared to a CFU
Answer
A Microbial Equivalent per Milliliter (ME/ml) and a Colony Forming Unit (CFU) are not equivalent. The Me/ml unit is based on the assumption that each cell has 1 femtogram of ATP, which is the average amount for a Typical E.Coli cell.
