Question
Why are the Wastewater Effluent Standard Solution total nitrogen and TKN values higher than what is printed on the bottle?
Summary
s-TKN standard accuracy check
Answer
The Wastewater Effluent Standard Solution (Product #2833249) contains a component that adds 1.56 mg/L N to the Total N and TKN values. This is in addition to the 2-mg/L NH 3-N and 4-mg/L NO 3-N shown on the label.

Note: The factory calibration can be adjusted slightly with the standard adjust option so that the instrument shows the expected value of the standard solution. The adjusted calibration is then used for all test results. This adjustment can increase the test accuracy when there are small variations in the reagents or instruments.
