Question
Does Hach have a test for iodine?
Summary
Test for iodine
Answer
Hach offers an iodine method which uses total chlorine DPD to determine iodine. Method 8031 can be used on Hach spectrophotometers. A total chlorine test can also give results for iodine. The total chlorine result is multiplied by 3.58 to give the result in mg I/L. Note that iodine may also give a result in a free chlorine test but these cannot be used to give an accurate iodine result. If a free chlorine DPD test is performed iodine will show up very low or not at all.
