Answer
Nitrate Ionic Strength Adjustor Powder Pillows - pk/100 (Product # 2984799) is listed for both the HQd and sension+ and Nitrate Ionic Strength Adjustor (ISA) Powder Pillows, 100/pk (Product # 4456369) is referenced periodically. The formulation of these two products are different:
  • Nitrate Ionic Strength Adjustor (ISA) Powder Pillows, 100/pk (Product # 4456369) is AgSO4, AlSO4, and potassium sulfamate
  • Nitrate Ionic Strength Adjustor Powder Pillows - pk/100 (Product # 2984799) is just NaPO4.
It would be preferential to use Nitrate Ionic Strength Adjustor (ISA) Powder Pillows, 100/pk (Product # 4456369) since it contains silver to remove chloride interference.

Nitrate Ionic Strength Adjustor (ISA) Buffer Solution, 500 mL (Product # 2488349) also contains silver. It is prepared following the directions oulined in SM 4500-NO3 D. This solution is not concentrated like other liquid ISA, and the ratio of Standard/sample to ISA should be 1:1. What's recommended is 25 mL of standard/sample to 25 mL of ISA.
