Question
When measuring the same sample using the FerroVer® and FerroZine® chemistry, why are the results different?
Summary
FerroVer® and FerroZine® iron results are different
Answer
In both chemistries, the iron in the sample must be reduced to the ferrous state in order to complex the indicator and produce the color. The FerroVer® has a stronger reductant than the FerroZine®, and in certain sample types will indicate a higher value. If a digestion is being done, there should be no difference at all between the samples.
